About 3 weeks ago I removed my green nail polish from my fingernails?
after wearing it for about 3-4 months (occasionally removing the polish completely and painting on a new coat, but for the most part, repainting over the old polish when it chipped.... never with a base coat underneath). My nails were stained green for about 2 days but eventually faded away, but a slight yellow stain remained on all my 10 nails. However, last weekend I noticed only the tips of my nails were kind of yellow while the rest of my nails look pink and healthy. Twice I've tried soaking my nails in hydrogen peroxide and warm water for 10 min. then scrubbing. While the yellow minimizes almost to the point where it's barely visible, I've noticed the yellowing seems to return within a few days. Should I be concerned this could be a fungus or did months of dark polish without a base coat stain my nails? Should I continue soaking my nails in peroxide and just let my nails grow out and not worry to much about it? Thanks in advance.

Soaking your nails in peroxide is the dumbest thing someone could ever do. It DESTROYS your nail, not to mention makes the skin on your fingertips extremely dry. All you need it a 4-sided nail block, where all 4 sides have different surfaces. You can get one at any drug store or Wal-Mart.
my nails always get like this in the summer because i wear red polish. fungus wouldn't be on ALL of your nails. are probably just really stained. i use Sally Hansen Insta Brite to make my nails whiter after I take off the polish. it seems to work well. hope this helps.
your nails are stained yellow only because you had no oxygen to your nail plate for those 4 months. you need to let your nails breath. peroxide will not help just wait a few weeks without nail polish.
Don't worry too much about it if it's just your tips. If the yellow is appearing where there is flesh then yeah get it checked out. My mom had an infection under there and didn't do anything about it but clean and disinfect it and it got so bad that they had to remove the nail. But it hurt to apply pressure. So if it doesn't hurt then don't worry about it. Most likely it's just a stain. I've stained my nails before with black paint x_x Just let them grow out. The peroxide will make them weaker if you soak them too much so you don't want to do that often.
My moms nails are like that from always wearing red nailpolish i think because there both dark colors.
if your nails are only yellow at the tip this is properly just a stain you should cut you're nails after their long enough if the yellow comes back i would go see a doctor.
The best way to get rid of the yellow stains is stop using nail polish for a while, and it'll go away on its own. DON'T continue soakinig your nails in peroxide. You shouldn't worry about it, it's perfectly normal. The yellow stains just mean your nails need a break, you've been painting them way too much. It happened to me, and went away on its own. Keep growing it out, having occasional trims when you need to.
Hope I helped!

peroxide will destroy your nails.. not repair them..
they yellow on your nails is fine, it'll just grow out eventually.

I am a fan of green polish and red too, which seem to cause the most yellow discoloration. I doubt it is a fungus. I tried the peroxide thing.....honestly I don't think it did any good on top of probably being harmful. I find a nice 4-sided buffer has helped. I also think you need to take off the polish and let your nails breathe. Be sure to use a base coat in the future....and if you need a weekend, so do your nails.
