I currently have nail fungus from fake nails.?

I just started taking novo-terbinaine (250), and have a perscription for 6 weeks. Is there anything i ca do other then following the perscription to help my nails in this process? I read answers on this topic and people are saying Listerine and Vicks Vapour rub, will it work?

Also, my nails are not pretty, can I paint them to cover them? its very embarressing.
