My big toe nail has turned a dark shade of green? Should I go to the Dr?

I dance a lot and dance pretty hard on my feet. I think I wore shoes a little small for me and I kept hitting my big toe nail. It bruised very badly and eventually turned a shade of white. It started to get very tender and when I took the nail polish off it's a dark shade of green. I am concerned I now have nail fungus. I cut it as short as I could and cleaned it. It's not as tender as it was but it's a little sore. Should I go to the Dr. It feels like my nail may be coming away from my toe also.

Your toenail will probably fall off in a month or two. It's nothing to worry about, I've had it happen to both my big toes and lost 3 toenails this way. Since your toe was just bruised and turned green it wil begin growing a new one before the old one falls off.

If you think you have nail fungus you may want to ask a doctor about that, but if it's just a bruise the doctor can't do anything and your body will fix itself over time.
