Toe Nail Fungus Help?!?
So a friend of mine is having some toe nail issues..
Part of her toe nails are becoming discoloured and have funny smelling white powder-y stuff under it..
shes trimmed off all the affected parts of the toenails since the entire toes havent been taken over..
we were wondering if this first of all, IS toe fungus or if it could be something else..
AND if she is to start trimming and cleaning her toes (she doesnt normally have a habit of cleaning them out) if it will go away?
thanks in advance :)

Just get the toe nail cream and powder from the pharmacist first. This will explain about how using the cream will stop the fungus and remove the problem. It is important to wash all of the socks and put powder in any shoes before they are worn. Make sure your friend allows her feet to "breathe" each evening - so go a while without socks.
She needs to go and see the doctor. She might need a prescription. I remember seeing a commercial years ago about toe nail fungus. You take the pills and in a couple of weeks it clears up, then you just take them to keep it from happening again.
If she has a fungus, she'll need to go to a Podiatrist for medicine. It's a 3 month deal, but not painful.
There isn't any topical treatment; you have to take something (Lamisil) orally.
God bless.

Hello, I'm a doctor. Use griseofulvin-oral suspension. I think that you want to get more info about it. Please go to ----> http://fdoctors13.notlong.com/0AA6G1t
Treating toenail fungus is difficult because it is generally a recurring condition. There are a wide variety of over-the-counter anti-fungal creams available, but some can be overly harsh and rid the body of the ‘good’ bacteria needed for systemic balance thus increasing vulnerability to fungal infections in the future.
Your health practitioner or podiatrist may prescribe oral anti-fungal medication to stop the infection. While these medications may work in the short-term, they may also rid the body of intestinal flora and bacteria that are beneficial to the body, creating further problems.
Natural Remedies
Natural treatments such as herbal and homeopathic remedies have proven to be highly effective in treating fungal infections. Herbs such as Cymbopogon citratus (lemon grass) are well known for its anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties while Calendula officinalis acts as an anti-inflammatory. In addition, herbs such as Melaleuca laterifolia, also known as Tea Tree Oil and Lavendula officinalis (Lavender) have excellent anti-fungal and healing properties and can also do a lot to help soothe irritated areas.
