Answers:
Go to the doctor, he'll put you on either Terbinafine, or some kinda nail-polish thing that will clear it up. Neither of the treatments are painful in any way.
the most common treatmet is using Lamisil at a strength that only doctors can prescribe. The reason is because it can affect the liver and kidneys (but does not usually) also it's very very expensive per tablet.
Lamisil works extremely well in removing the fungus from the nails and elsewhere in the body, but it takes a very long time to regrow the nails.Tthat's nothing to do with the lamisil, it just takes a long time for nails to regrow completely. Basically you lose the old and get new. It takes about a year.
There can be side affects, like with all drugs, but my experience was that it was minimal. It's certainly not painful.
You will find this good http://www.drugs.com/pdr/lamisil.html
