What is a natural alternative to nail fungus?
nail fungus is different to foot fungus for in the nail the fungus grows back into the toenails further that is why a topical solution will not work. for i have tried them all that is why i ask for an alternative to lamisil a tablet
Answers:
See your doctor. They can prescribe you an antifungal tablet such as itraconazole. Natural remedies will not treat a fungal nail infection.
Contrary to Mr. Pharmacy student, tea tree oil kills most topical fungus. Get some under the tip of your nails and on the sides, three times a day. Do not reuse the same tea tree oil. Also, do an internal cleanse with aloe in order to remove that fungus from your blood, as it will most likely have penetrated the skin into your system and could come back at a later time.
Lamasil must be taken until the entire nail grows out. This can take quite a while if you depending on how fast your big toe nail grows. There is risk of liver damage with Lamasil.
You can soak your feet in vinegar after bathing or showering when the skin and nails are more porous and open and absorbent. Then apply tea tree oil. Apply the tea tree oil once more during the day, i.e. if you shower in the morning apply the tee tree oil once more before going to bed.
To add even more oomph you can make an herbal vinegar by adding anti fungal herbs to the vinegar, letting the concoction sit in the sun for half an hour, and letting them sit for two weeks to two months.
Some anti fungal herbs are, calendula flowers, barberry root, cedar leaf berry or root, chamomile, chaparral, cloves, geranium, goldenseal, lavender, licorice, neem, oregano, sage, and turmeric.
IMPORTANT: You must be consistent with the treatment, not missing doses and continuing until ALL of the affected nails have grown out. This is true of the Lamasil treatment also.
